Blue Skies

The weather couldn’t be better. For the past two days, I’ve woken up to blue skies. This photo was taken from my dining room window where I have the pleasure of having coffee each morning as I check email and post to my site.

My apartment has traditional French architectural details such as ornate plaster mouldings, wainscoting, a marble fireplace, herringbone patterned hardwood floors, etc. Likewise, the floor plan is what the French call en filade: three rooms in a row separated by double doors. In my case, the rooms are my living, dining and bed room.

All the windows have a southern exposure, so the rooms are bathed with light throughout the day. There is a very small park called the Jardin de Boulainvilliers at the ground level.

I try to make the most of these days with plenty of walking tours. Today, I hope to explore neighborhoods that I haven’t visited or seen in a long time, but who knows where my path will take me.
